EASTLAKE, OH (WOIO) -

A 29-year-old Eastlake man charged with felonious assault after allegedly trying to run his wife and son over in his truck.

It happened Saturday night shortly after 9:30 p.m. on E. 348 Street.

The victim told police she called her husband to have him come home to take their son to the hospital. When the husband, identified as Marc Demarco, arrived home, he and his wife started to argue.

According to the wife, Demarco told her to find another ride to the hospital. He then started revving up his truck while his wife was in front of the vehicle. He's accused of peeling out and chasing her to the front door of the home. The wife had to run for the house with the baby in her arms.

Demarco then fled the scene.

Police arrested him a short time later. He claimed his wife threw a full can of pop at him and struck him in the mouth, so he retaliated. He had no visible injuries

Demarco is charged with two counts of felonious assault and is being held without bond.
