WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

Fire crews are investigating a two-alarm apartment building fire.

The fire broke out just after 3 a.m. on Wednesday at the Westwood Manor apartment complex at 2469 Westwood Northern Boulevard.

According to officials, the fire started in a basement apartment unit.

The second alarm was called in at 3:18 a.m. due to possible fire extension into the apartment above the fire, and a high occupancy load.

Crews were able to contain the flames to just the basement.

Fire companies removed seven occupants from the building. So far, one adult and two children have been displaced. The Red Cross is assisting all occupants of the building.

No one was hurt. Damage was estimated at $20,000 with the majority of damage contained to one apartment.
