Medical Examiner identifies Akron man killed in broad daylight

The Summit County Medical Examiner has identified the man fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in Akron.

31-year-old Jaquare Jackson was killed near a gas station shortly before 3 p.m. near the intersection of Copley Road and Edgewater Avenue.

The suspect(s) fired multiple shots at the victims from a SUV.  The suspect SUV was described as full-sized and charcoal gray with a bumper decal showing the image of yellow lips.  A partial license plate was also seen containing the numbers of '2129'.  The victims were driving in a maroon, 2000, Oldsmobile Aurora.

Jackson was transported to Akron General Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.  The second victim, a 28-year-old man, was transported to Akron City Hospital where his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear.
