
Price wins AL Cy Young, Dickey takes home NL awardTampa Bay's David Price won the American League Cy Young award, while the Mets' R.A. Dickey took home the National League's award for best pitcher.
Price beat Detroit's Justin Verlander by four points in the balloting. The Rays starter went 20-5 with an AL best 2.56 ERA and 205 strikeouts.
This is the first Cy Young for Price, who finished second in 2010 behind Seattle's Felix Hernandez.
As for Dickey, the knuckleballer went 20-6 with a 2.73 ERA in 2012. He is also the first knuckleballer to win the Cy Young award.
Dickey claimed 27 of a possible 32 first place votes. The Dodgers Clayton Kershaw finished second in the voting.
