CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

19 Action News has learned of new fallout from the case of a woman caught driving on the sidewalk around a school bus.

Cleveland Councilman Kevin Conwell says that at tonight's council meeting, he will introduce a new city ordinance that calls for stiffer penalties for driving around a school bus.

He says the current law is only a minor misdemeanor with a fine. His proposal would make that crime a first degree misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of 6 months in jail and a fine up to $1000.

Shena Hardin recently made headlines for getting caught on tape driving around a school bus on the sidewalk. As part of her sentence, Judge Pinkey Carr ordered Hardin to stand at the corner of East 38th Street and Payne wearing a sign that says, "Only an idiot would drive around a school bus."
