AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Police are looking for a 26-year-old woman, wanted for a violent stabbing.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Avon Street in Akron. Police say Maria Woodall stabbed Preston Hill, 31, in the chest with a knife.

Hill tells police he and Woodall were arguing, when she suddenly grabbed a knife and stabbed him. Woodall then fled the scene.

Hill was transported to Akron City Hospital where his injures do not appear to be life threatening.

Woodall has a last known address on Minson Way in Akron.  Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Akron Police Department, Detective Bureau at (330) 375-2490.
