Police in Lorain County have arrested a 51-year-old man after his elderly mom was found malnourished and suffering from several untreated broken bones.
Police say Janet Whitman was also sitting in her own urine and waste for what they say must have been days. She also had a broken hip and arm with the bone almost protruding the skin, and bruises around her neck and face.
Officers were called to their Delaware Avenue home Monday evening, after a neighbor reported hearing Steven Whitman screaming at his mom.
Steven is now charged with domestic violence, patient abuse and gross neglect and failure to provide for a functionally impaired person and is locked up in the Lorain City Jail.
