Five deadbeats indicted for owing $81,779.64 in child support - 19 Action News|Cleveland, OH|News, Weather, Sports

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty announced that five defendants were indicted for failing to pay child support. These five defendants owe a combined $81,779.64 in child support arrears.

The charge of criminal non-support is a fifth degree felony which carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison. These indictments are a result of a joint investigative effort by the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. Arraignments for the following defendants are scheduled for November 27, 2012: 

• Lebaron Pierce, 33, of Canton, was indicted on three counts of criminal non-support. He owes $38,554.42 for his 13-year-old child. One hearing was held in Juvenile Court during 2006. The last voluntary payment was made on May 31, 2011, in the amount of $70.59.
• Albert Cornell, 52, of Euclid, was indicted on two counts of criminal non-support. He owes $23,688.28 for his 15-year-old child. Five hearings have been held in Juvenile Court between 2006 and 2012. The last voluntary payment was made on September 24, 2012, in the amount of $100.00.  
• Arnesto Shields, 49, of Cleveland, was indicted on three counts of criminal non-support. He owes $11,762.47 for his three children ages 16, 19, and 21. Two hearings were held in Domestic Relations Court during 2009. No payments have been made on this case.
• Demetrius Wright, 35, of Dayton, was indicted on two counts of criminal non-support. He owes $5,635.52 for his 16-year-old child. Two hearings were held in Juvenile Court during 2006. The last voluntary payment was made on September 12, 2012, in the amount of $350.00.
• Fred Eaddie, Jr, 37, of Cleveland, was indicted on one count of criminal non-support. He owes $2,138.95 for his 9-year-old child. No hearings have been held in Domestic Relations Court. The last voluntary payment was made on January 9, 2012, in the amount of $25.00.
