ODOT said they will continue to have crews out Saturday and through midnight tonight or later, as needed, in Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga Counties as a result of freezing temperatures and continued lake effect snow.
They report that nearly all roadways in our three-county area are wet, but icy spots can persist, especially on bridges and overpasses. Nearly all roadway are running at or near typical speed, however conditions can change.
ODOT will continue to monitor roadways and adjust staffing as necessary through the remainder of the ice and snow event. As always - ODOT's best advice: "In Ice & Snow... Take it Slow!"
ODOT District 12 will be staffed as follows:
Cuyahoga County – A crew of 29 snowplows is currently on the road until noon. From noon to midnight tonight, 30 plows will patrol for slick and icy spots.
Lake County – A crew of 13 snowplows is currently on the road until noon. From noon to midnight tonight, 7 plows will patrol for slick and icy spots.
Geauga County – A crew of 13 snowplows is currently on the road until noon. From noon to midnight tonight, 10 plows will patrol for slick and icy spots.
Crews will continue to monitor the ice and snow event and adjust staffing levels as necessary.
