
Mentor's Mitch Trubisky named Mr. FootballCleveland (WOIO) - Mitch Trubisky has been honored as Mr. Football, the annual award for the best high school football player in Ohio.
This season, Trubisky threw for 4,065 yards with 42 touchdown passes and only 12 interceptions. He also ran the ball 197 times for 835 yards and 18 touchdowns.
He helped the Mentor Cardinals to the Division 1 Region 1 Championship, beating Warren G Harding 45-35.
Trubisky has a verbal commitment to play next season for the North Carolina Tar Heels. According to Rivals.com Trubisky is a 3 star prospect. He was offered by other schools such as Ohio State, Minnesota, Alabama, and Tennessee.
Trubisky joins Euclid's Robert Smith (1988, 1989) and Tony Fisher (1997) and former Mentor Quarterback Bart Tanski (2007) as Mr. Football's from around the area.
