Suspect in Akron murder should be considered armed and dangerous

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Detectives in Akron are investigating a homicide that occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday night near the intersection of Buckingham Street and Fairbanks Place.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, was shot while inside a black, 2004 Pontiac Grand Am. The victim was transported to Akron City Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been positively identified as Will A. Lamon. An autopsy has been completed and the cause of death is a gunshot wound to the torso.

Detectives signed a warrant for Aggravated Murder on 24-year-old Phillip Pope, with a last known address on Ericsson Avenue in Akron. Pope is a black man, 5'06" and 140 lbs. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting appears to be domestic related.
