VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A tractor trailer carrying 250 60-inch VIZIO TVs, valued at $998 each, caught fire and burned for several hours on Interstate 20 Wednesday night in Van Zandt County.

Van Zandt Fire Marshall Charles Allen said they believe the cause of the fire was a mechanical failure. The fire began in the right-rear tires and spread into the rest of the trailer.

Approximately $250,000 worth of TVs were damaged in the incident, which occured around 8 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-20 at mile marker 515 near Wills Point.

The Department of Public Safety and the Van Zandt County Fire Marshal were at the scene along with Wills Point, Elmo, and College Mound fire departments. The interstate re-opened at around 2 a.m.

No injuries were reported, according to Van Zandt County Sheriff Office dispatchers.
