Alert: One arrest puts a stop to recent car thefts in Parma

Posted: Updated:
PARMA, OH (WOIO) -

The Honda Civic is a very popular car, not only for drivers but also thieves!  And one suburb is warning owners you better watch out.

In the last three days Parma residents have experienced at least auto thefts or attempted auto thefts.

"I don't know if it is just happening in Parma, but I think its all over," said Jessica Fox.  "When you wake up and your car is not there, that's a real bad feeling."

In fact Accords and Civics, in that order are the two most stolen cars.  They are easy to get into and easy to peel the column back.

The older stolen cars are often sold for parts even though that's not the case here.

Police say the cars were stolen for joy rides, and whey they would get banged up they would just go out and get another one.

Officers did make one arrest and after that arrest, the auto thefts stopped.  Cops nabbed Joshua Webster when he passed out in a car, a Honda, he had stolen.
