Brunswick Police are planning an afternoon news conference in wake of a deadly 30-hour standoff in the city.

A 39-year-old man, identified as Terrance Abel, was shot several times by officers.

A female victim was also injured, and taken to Metro. No word on her identity or condition at this time.

On Friday, November 30, Brunswick Police received a call regarding a domestic dispute on Jefferson Avenue shortly after 1:30 p.m.  After the police arrived at the scene to find the front door damaged and barricaded, a perimeter was then set up.

Officers heard Abel and woman arguing inside.

SWAT was activated, and remained on scene until the end of the standoff late Saturday night.

An investigation is underway.
