CLEVELAND, OH -
Come on, don't you have to be a little enthused about the Browns. Quarterback Brandon Weeden threw for 364 yards, and again found his connection with fellow rookie and budding star Josh Gordon who caught a long touchdown pass. The Browns defense is playing physical football and forced a critical late game turnover. It should be enough to spark at least a little hope, "I like them, I think they're improving. Weeden is looking good, he under throws a little too much but I see improvement. I see the playoffs next year," said Browns fan John Zerecheck.
@The Browns also put together their most impressive drive of the year. After a late Sheldon Brown interception the Browns drove 96 yards in 14 plays and scored on a Trent Richardson touchdown run to take a 20-10 lead. It was the kind of drive good teams put together to close out games and it's something we have not seen very often from the Browns.
Included in that drive was a gutsy call by Browns coach Pat Shurmur to go for it on a fourth and one, that if unsuccessful, would have given Oakland great field position. Shurmur is starting to win over some fans, "It takes time to develop chemistry and know what you have in your players and what your players can do. I believe Shurmur can do it but I am not an expert its just my opinion," said Browns fan Eddie Gohlstin.
The decision on Shurmur will come after the season, according to new owner Jimmy Haslam. It seemed like a foregone conclusion that Shurmur would be out of a job after the season, but the Browns have won four of their last seven games. Haslam may want to make a change no matter what the Browns do the rest of the way, but Shurmur, if he keeps winning can make that a much more difficult decision.
The Browns play the Chiefs at Cleveland Browns stadium on Sunday.
