MENTOR, OH (WOIO) -
A man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Mentor on Monday.
It happened just before 3:30 p.m. in the area of Hidden Glen.
The preliminary investigation shows the motorcyclist veered off the roadway and struck two garbage cans. After striking the garbage cans, the motorcyclist continued on the roadway, where he began to slide.
The rider, identified as 51-year-old Don Chiappone of Mentor, was rushed to Hillcrest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It appears that speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident. The investigation is still ongoing.
