WILLOWICK, OH (WOIO) -

Exactly one year ago this week, Timothy Russell led Willowick police on a high speed chase.

According to police, the 43-year old led police on a nearly 10-minute chase after taking off during a routine traffic stop. 

Charges in that case were eventually dismissed.  

Russell and Malissa Williams were killed Thursday, November 29, by Cleveland Police when he led them on a high speed chase.

He was shot 23 times.  Williams was shot 24.
