K9 helps nab drug suspect hours after being sworn in!

ORRVILLE, OH (WOIO) -

Police say less than 3 hours after being sworn in, K9 Freddie finds drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop.

Orrville Police Officer Smith (with K9 Freddie) made a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of W. High Street and N. Vine Street.

During the stop, Ofc. Smith asked the occupants if there were any drugs in the car and they told him "No."

K-9 Freddie walked around the outside of the car and alerted on the car for the presence of drugs.

The occupants were removed from the vehicle and Ofc. Smith was able to locate a device used for smoking marijuana as well as seeds.

The driver was cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving Under Suspension.
