Pat Shurmur says Brandon Weeden will remain the starterBerea (WOIO) - Browns head coach Pat Shurmur said Monday he will stick with Brandon Weeden under center.
Weeden, who was 21-35 for 244 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions on Sunday was never in danger of being pulled according to the coach. ""I did not think about (pulling him)," said Shurmur on Monday.
The Browns lost 38-21 to Washington ending their three-game winning streak.
"I'm looking forward to him having a much better game in Denver,'' Shurmur also said.
As for whether Weeden is the long-term answer, "I think he's a rookie and he'll be much better in his second year.''
