CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
Mayor Frank G. Jackson, Martin Flask, Director of Public Safety and Michael McGrath, Chief of the Division of Police, are pleased to report that a Civil Service Commission examination for the position of Patrol Officer will be offered on Saturday, March 2, 2013.
The Public Safety Department and the Division of Police are engaged in a recruitment effort aimed at identifying diverse, highly motivated individuals interested in a rewarding career in law enforcement. Hiring for the Division of Police from the eligible candidates established by this exam will occur before the end of 2013.
Applications for the examination must be made on an official Civil Service application form which is available weekdays at Cleveland Public Auditorium, 500 Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114 and in the Rotunda of Cleveland City Hall, 601 Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114 on Saturday, January 12, 2013.
Applications may be filed at the Civil Service Commission office at Cleveland City Hall from Monday, January 7, 2013 through Friday, January 18, 2013. Weekday hours are 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. and Saturday, January 12, 2013 hours are 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.
Applications will also be accepted at the following Rec Centers from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the dates listed below:

At the time of registration applicants must present their driver's license, high school diploma, social security card, proof of residency, and military information, if applicable. Additional information is available by calling the Civil Service Office at 216-664-2467 or 216-623-5233.
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable filing fee of $10.00 (Cash, Money Order, or bank check only. No personal checks will be accepted.) Bank Check or Money Order must be made payable to the City of Cleveland.
Those individuals presenting proof of unemployment or public assistance at the time of filing will be exempt from the fee. A copy of such proof must be included with the application.
