As a result stopping, parking and standing of all vehicles are prohibited on city streets with posted Red and White signs until FUTHER NOTICE.
Parking is prohibited on designated snow emergency streets which are identified as necessary for transportation, the movement of food and fuel supplies, medical care, fire, health and police protection and other vital facilities of the city.
Significant snowfall can cause streets to become congested and un passable. Vehicles left parked in the roadway prevents snowplows from clearing streets, which can make driving down these streets impossible.
A minimum of 48 snow plow crews are on-duty around the clock. Additional crews are on standby should the snow fall exceed 8-10 inches.
Snow crews will clear main streets and secondary routes before transitioning into residential streets, based on conditions in the city's six snow removal districts.
