Bandits swipe Christmas tree from city property

Posted: Updated:
BRIMFIELD, OH (WOIO) -

A group decided to cut down its own tree on Christmas Eve.  Problem though, it wasn't on a tree farm.

According to Brimfield Police Department's facebook page, three people sneaked into a park in Kent and cut down their very own Christmas tree.

They placed the tree on top of their vehicle and drove off. After hearing radio traffic, Brimfield Police spotted the tree bandits.

They've been arrested. Two of the three passengers had warrants.  They are facing charges of theft and damaging city property.
