Kelly Pavlik's super middleweight title fight against champion Andre Ward has been canceled. Ward injured his shoulder during a sparring session last month and will need surgery.
The fight, scheduled for January 26 at the Galen Center on the campus of USC in Los Angeles, was going to be the main event for the HBO card.
Pavlik (40-2, 34 KO's) was going to be a huge underdog in the fight.
It's unclear if the fight with Ward (26-0, 14 KO's) will be rescheduled.
