GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

Police were called to a confusing scene Thursday evening when they responded to reports of a home invasion.

According to police, witnesses saw two men steal a purse from inside a car on Maplerow Avenue, and they proceeded to chase them down the street around 7 p.m. Thursday.

The suspects ran into a nearby relative's house, called police, and told them they were being chased and the home was being invaded.

When Garfield Heights police arrived, witnesses outside explained the suspects involved in the theft were posing as victims.

The suspects were arrested, and the purse was returned to its owner.

No names being released.
