Akron woman fights off intruder

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Police say a 22-year-old woman fights off an intruder in her home.

It happened just before 2:00 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of East Voris Street.

The victim tells Akron Police she was awakened by a man wearing a ski mask inside her home. The suspect punched her, and she fought back.

The suspect fled the house and the victim called police.

The victim had minor scratches on her neck and was treated on scene by paramedics.

Nothing was reported taken.
