LAKEMORE, OH (WOIO) -

A 33-year-old robbery suspect busted after asking cops for a ride home.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. Thursday at the Tri-County Plaza on Canton Road in Lakemore.

Officers discovered Daniel L. Beaver acting suspicious at the plaza. Beaver told police that he was waiting for a cab, and said he had been waiting for over half an hour.

Beaver then asked the officers if they would give him a courtesy ride home. During a consensual search prior to the ride home, officers found a woman's purse stuffed inside Beaver's coat. It was discovered the purse was stolen from a patron at a local gaming room.

Beaver was booked into the Summit County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property, drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
