CLEVELAND, OH -

Toya Tell-Byrd just lost her job.

The Cleveland jail guard has been fired for letting an accused killer go by mistake.

Last month, Drew Danzy walked out of jail after going to court on a traffic ticket, and he still hasn't been found.

He'd just been locked up for murder after a long manhunt. Police suspect him in the killing of a friend.

City Safety Director Martin Flask tells us, Toya Tell-Byrd had been a guard with the city 15 years.

She had let a prisoner go once before, and in this case, she somehow missed a murder warrant.

"She admitted the mistake she made. It was an honest mistake. However, it was so egregious, the only option that I had was termination," said Safety Director Martin Flask.

Danzy's family says there's no telling where he might be.
