LORDSTOWN, OH (WOIO) -

Operations have returned to normal at the GM Lordstown Complex following a small fire in the Chassis department just before 9 p.m. Friday.

The early investigation reveals that the fire was started as a result of welding work performed by contractors.

Communications Manager Tom Mock said fire crews had the small fire contained quickly.

"The team did a great job with the response, getting the fire knocked down quickly. Minimal damage was done to the plant," said Mock.

Four people on site were taken to local hospitals. Three have been treated and released and one remains hospitalized for observation.

Production at Lordstown remains scheduled for all three shifts Monday, January 7 with third shift reporting at regularly scheduled times Sunday night.@
