Who will the Browns turn to now?Now that Chip Kelly has decided to return to Oregon, the Browns head coaching search surges ahead. But who will they turn to?
ESPN Cleveland is reporting owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner are in Chicago to talk with Marc Trestman, the head coach of the CFL's Montreal Allouettes. Trestman was a coach with the Browns in the late 1980's. Trestman is a close friend of Browns legendary quarterback Bernie Kosar.
The team also has requested permission from the Indianapolis Colts to interview offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. Arians was also a Browns offensive coordinator with the Browns under then head coach Butch Davis from 2001-2003.
It's also being reported Arians will talk with the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles.
Arians was released from a Baltimore hospital on Monday after feeling dizzy before the Colts playoff game Sunday against the Ravens and will conduct the interviews this week.
