CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has identified the store owner shot and killed after trying to stop a robbery at his store.
Abou Kane was shot in the chest at Well's Fashions Clothing on Kinsman Avenue just before 8 p.m. Friday night.
Cleveland Police say two suspects attempted to rob the store. As the suspects were fleeing, Kane chased them. While he was chasing them, one of the suspects fired a shot. EMS transported Kane to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he later died.
The Cleveland Division of Police is asking that anyone with information on this incident to contact the Homicide Unit at 216-623-5464. Anonymous information can be given to Crime Stoppers by calling 216-252-7463 or Text messaging to Text TIP657 plus your message to Crimes (274637).
