WILLOUGHBY, OH (WOIO) -

Police arrest a prostitute after finding text messages to her from a man who led them on a chase.

The chase began around 1:20 a.m. Monday when officers stopped a driver on Maplegrove Road. The driver initially stopped and pulled into the parking lot of the Motel 6, but then fled after the Willoughby Police Officer approached his minivan.

The driver ended up crashing into a pole on East 185th Street and fled on foot. He remains on the loose.

Police did find his cell phone at the crash site. By searching through the phone, officers learned he had planning on meeting prostitute Tajua Lewis at the Motel 6.

Officers went to the hotel and found 21-year-old Lewis with another man, who admitted to paying for oral sex.

Lewis is charged with prostitution and possession of criminal tools. She is now out on bond and will be back in court later this month.

The man found with her has not yet been charged.
