Fight over speed cameras heads to court

ELMWOOD PLACE, OH (FOX19) -

The fight over the Elmwood Place speed cameras will go back to the courtroom on Wednesday.

Attorney Mike Allen is suing the village and trying to block its use of the cameras, stating that they are not accurate and should not be used.

Drivers caught speeding through the village will be sent $105 tickets in the mail.

Since the installment of the cameras in September, tens of thousands of tickets have been issued.

Police Chief William Peskin argues that the village does not have enough officers to conduct traditional speed patrols.

The hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Justice Center.
