Man critically injured in Henrietta Township crash

HENRIETTA TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

An investigation is underway after a serious injury crash in Henrietta Township on Friday evening.

The accident happened in Henrietta Township near the intersection of SR113 and Gifford Road just before 6:30 p.m.

Timothy O'Brien, was westbound on SR 113 when he stopped to turn left into a private drive in a 1994 F350 dump truck.

Michael Durkalec was westbound behind O'Brien's vehicle in a 2005 Subaru Forester.

Brent Leimbach was eastbound on SR 113 in a 2006 Ford F150 pickup truck.

Durkalec did not stop in time behind O'Brien's stopped vehicle and attempted to pass O'Brien's vehicle. Durkalec side-swiped O'Brien's vehicle, drove left-of-center and struck the eastbound Ford F150 head-on. Durkalec came to rest in the middle of the roadway. The Ford F150 was driven off the south side of the road and came to rest in a yard.

Leimbach was trapped in his F150 and extricated by medical personnel. He was flown by LifeFlight to Cleveland Metro with non-life threatening injuries.

Durkalec was flown by LifeFlight to Cleveland Metro and is currently is in extremely critical condition.

O'Brien was not injured.

Drug and alcohol use is unknown at this time.
