STRONGSVILLE, OH (WOIO) -

Men claiming to be cops tried to lure child in Strongsville.

10-year old Chase Hays describes the frightening incident his 11-year old neighbor and friend told him about at a school bus stop in Strongsville. "I would feel scared," says Hays.

The little girl was waiting for her school bus early Friday morning at Lunn Road and Walnut Creek Drive when she says two men drove up and asked her if she wanted a ride.

"Asked if she wanted to get in the car with them, asking where her school was," explains Hays.

The girl says the men were in a black sedan and claimed they were police officers. When she refused to get in the car, they took off.

"She said no and they kept asking. Kept asking and the bus came and they went away," says Hays.

Carolyn Hays, Chase's mom is stunned to learn about the luring incident. Chase usually waits at the same bus stop with the little girl, but wasn't there that day.

Now she says she'll talk to other parents about waiting for the bus with their kids, and hopes this never happens again.

"I'm probably going to have to start being out there myself. One of us needs to be aware and see what's going on. If that's what's happening, explains Carolyn.

Investigators don't have much to go on except that the men were in some type of black sedan. If you know anything Strongsville police want to hear from you.
