TOLEDO, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - A single mother who is expecting her second child is out of a home after an intense blaze in central Toledo.

The home she was renting was destroyed, and surrounding homes sustained heat damage from the blaze that kept crews busy for hours Thursday morning.

A representative for the management company who rents out the house says the woman was staying with relatives and was not home at the time of the fire.

Crews were called to the home on Blum Street just before 3 a.m. That's located near North Hawley and Nebraska. Flames were so intense that firefighters could only battle it from the outside. The house is a total loss and is being torn down.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The representative for the management company said the woman was not staying there Wednesday night because the house had been broke into twice recently. The first time was before Christmas, and all of her presents were stolen. The second time happened earlier this week.
