Toledo police warn women about gas station purse thieves

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo Police issued a warning for women in the area to be aware of purse thieves while getting gas.

The Toledo Police Patrolman's Association says thieves are making a habit of snatching ladies' purses from their cars when the women are paying for their fuel.

The crime is one of opportunity. The thieves can get into the cars left unlocked and be gone before the driver comes back out of the store.

Police advise women to take extra care to protect their purses.
