GM Parma plant is expected to get some transfers from Grand Blanc plant

PARMA, OH (WOIO) -

General Motors will close Grand Blanc plant in Michigan and some of the work is expected to move to Parma according to a GM spokesperson.

The announcement was made by GM management this morning at the Grand Blanc plant.

19 Action News was told that all 343 employees were offered other assignments, either in Flint, Warren, or the Parma metal center.

The exact number of employees that will transfer to Parma is not known at this time, neither is what equipment that may be transferred.

Grand Blanc has 315 hourly employees with the UAW and 28 salaried.

This will all be complete by July 1st.
