ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) -

Elyria Police were called to Midway Mall Friday around 4 p.m. after a woman reported she was robbed of her purse.

The victim said she was leaving the Macy's when a white male ran at her and knocked her to the ground grabbing her purse.

She tried to hold onto it, but was unable to.

The suspect then jumped into a blue vehicle and drove away.

A man waiting for his wife heard the female screaming and saw the incident happen.  He jumped out of his car and ran towards the woman.

He was able to get a license plate for the vehicle, which was turned over to police.

Police are still investigating.  No arrests have been made.
