ROCKY RIVER, OH (WOIO) -

Rocky River Police reported to 19 Action News  that they have 21-year-old Donovan Owens in custody.

Police say Owens, with his attorney, turned himself in around 6:30pm Thursday night and he was placed under arrest.

Police have also recovered Owens' car.

Owens was arrested in the deadly shooting that happened Tuesday night around 10 p.m. on Westway near Wagar Road.

Rocky River Police Chief Kelly Stillman tells 19 Action News the shooting victims were walking down the street when they exchanged words with a passing car. It is unknown if the two parties knew one another, but it appears the meeting was not random.

Two people were shot, and rushed to Fairview Hospital. 39-year-old Michael MacGillis, Jr. of Rocky River died from his injuries. MacGillis, Jr. has a long criminal record for convictions ranging from domestic violence to drunk driving to failure to comply with a police officer.

The second victim, 43-year-old Andrew J. Geraci, remains hospitalized with three gunshot wounds.
