Cause probed in Euclid apartment fire that injured firefighter

EUCLID, OH (WOIO) -

Euclid firefighters are investigating the cause of an apartment fire that caused more than a half-million dollars in damage and injured a firefighter.

The fire started around 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Aljer Manor on Euclid Avenue.

When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out the windows of an apartment on the 2nd floor.

Several neighboring firefighters were called to the scene to help. 43 firefighters fought the blaze for an hour and a half.

One firefighter hurt his arm while inside the building.

The Red Cross is helping the tenants.

Four apartments had major smoke and water damage and two apartments had major water damage.
