The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms one man died at the scene of a crash on U.S. Route 20 in Sandusky County early Tuesday morning.
Troopers say Daniel Magers Jr., 30, of Fremont, OH, was driving a pickup truck and ran a stop sign at the intersection of US-20 and County Road 128 around 2:15 a.m. Magers struck Russell Lucas, 53, of Monroe, MI, who was driving a semi truck on US-20.
Magers and his passenger, Shannon McGrew, 29, of Rocky Ridge, OH, were ejected from the vehicle upon impact. Magers was pronounced dead at the scene and McGrew was taken to a local hospital but then was flown by Life Flight to a Toledo hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.
Lucas was not injured in the crash.
The westbound lanes of US-20 were closed for nearly six hours, but have since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation, but officers say alcohol may have been a factor.
