TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A 12-year-old pedestrian was struck at Nevada and Woodville in east Toledo Thursday morning shortly before 6.

Police say the boy was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Woodville. Police say the driver tried to change lanes but the boy doubled back and ran into the vehicle.

According to a witness, the boy was outside the crosswalk when the light turned green, flashing a "do not cross" light.

The boy was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

He now faces a charge of jaywalking.
