Police: Akron bank robber on the run

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Police in Akron are looking for the suspect who robbed the First Merit Bank on Monday morning.

The robbery happened around 10:30 a.m. at the bank on Kenmore Boulevard.

The suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect fled northbound from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. No gun was seen.

The suspect is a black man, in his 30s, 5'07', 175 – 180 lbs., wearing a black knit hat, black pea coat with collar, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black gloves.
