
Akron keeps streak alive in 68-56 win over Central MichiganThe Akron Zips extended their winning streak alive with a 68-56 win over Central Michigan. The Zips have now won an NCAA-best 14 straight games in a row.
Alex Abreu lead the way for Akron with 13 points. Kyle Randall lead everyone with 22 points for the Chippewas.
It was a tight game in the first half. Carmelo Betancourt's jumper at the end of the first half gave the Zips a 28-27 halftime lead. They trailed with 50-49 with 5:00 until Deji Ibitayo nailed a three-pointer to give Akron the lead for good at 52-50.
The Zips will travel to Miami of Ohio on Saturday to take on the Redhawks at 1:00 P.M.
