CORRYVILLE, OH (FOX19) -
Fire crews were called to the scene of fire at a local bar.
The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Upper Room Bar and Grill, located at 3201 Jefferson Avenue near Vine Street.
Witnesses say they were woken up by three explosions coming from the building before crews responded to the scene, which were later identified by fire officials to be windows shattering.
Upon fire crew arrival, an aggressive interior attack was initiated; however the fire had advanced into hidden voids of this complex building. Additional fire companies were requested for manpower. Due to the fire reaching advanced stages and the property determined to be vacant, fire companies were pulled out to fight the fire defensively and make sure the fire did not spread to nearby homes and businesses.
There were a total of 44 firefighters battling the flames.
Damage to the building is estimated around $100,000.
No one was inside of the building when the fire occurred and no injuries have been reported.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause.
Roads are shut down in the area while crews clean up the fire.
