Make the best out of the winter with cross-country skiing

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

If you're sick of staying inside trying to keep warm, maybe it's time to get a workout, winter style with cross-country skiing in the Metroparks.

Unbeknownst to many folks, the splendors of cross country skiing are just minutes away from downtown Cleveland.

The golf course at Rocky River has been transformed into a winter ski center with just four inches of snow.

The trails are groomed and people with their own equipment are not charged.   Skis are also rented on site.

Conditions are also good at Pine Lodge Cross Country Ski Center in Willoughby Hills. Again, with your own equipment, trails are open free to public.

Both areas are less than 35 minutes from downtown Cleveland.

Both areas boast inexpensive family fun.

Check out the following links to find a place for cross-country skiing.
