CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Unbeknownst to many folks, the splendors of cross country skiing are just minutes away from downtown Cleveland.

The golf course at Rocky River has been transformed into a winter ski center with just four inches of snow.

The trails are groomed and people with their own equipment are not charged.   Skis are also rented on site.

Conditions are also good at Pine Lodge Cross Country Ski Center in Kirtland. Again, with your own equipment, trails are open free to public.

Both areas are less than 35 minutes from downtown Cleveland.

Both areas boast inexpensive family fun.
