CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

New charges have been filed against a father accused of having a gun in his house picked up by a little girl suspected of fatally shooting herself.

Edmund Benson has now been indicted with involuntary manslaughter, endangering children and a weapons charge.

Court records show the little girl, 6-year-old Neveah, found a gun underneath a bed. The records also show the father has been indicted for involuntary manslaughter because investigators believe he's responsible for the gun.

Benson is facing a weapons charge because he never should have had a gun. His record includes a prior conviction for gross sexual imposition.
