The Port of Poulsbo is providing parking at their lot on Jensen Way for no charge during the month of February.
Poulsbo, WA (PRWEB) February 08, 2013
The Port of Poulsbo has offered the use of its normal pay-to-park lot to visitors in downtown Poulsbo for free during the month of February. The Port is pitching in to help visitors and merchants of Downtown Poulsbo alike by creating more free parking as Anderson Parkway undergoes a facelift. Carol Tripp, the Port Auditor, reached out to public relation firm handling the Parkway facelift, The RockFish Group, with the offer, stating that "the Port Parking area (formerly the Armory) will be able for parking at NO CHARGE for the month of February."
It isn't the Port's "no-charge" parking for the month that is the real gem, but rather the "charge" that one can get at the lot. The Port's Jensen Way parking lot has 4 electric car chargers, available for a fee, that have so far been under utilized by drivers of electric vehicles. The parking lot, which is located just off Front Street, was created when the Port purchased the old Armory property.
With an increase in the ownership of electric vehicles the Port had the charging stations installed so that visitors of the downtown corridor would be able to recharge while enjoying the sites, shops, and foods of Poulsbo. Electric car charging stations have begun to appear in more locations but for drivers of the vehicles knowing that they can charge up while in downtown Poulsbo takes a little planning out of their trips. To help identify the lot as available for free parking the City of Poulsbo has installed Parking signs in front of the Port's lot on Jensen Way.
