CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

City officials say they are working to re-open the West Side Market on Monday, Feb. 18.

Last month's fire severely damaged the 100-year-old landmark. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, however the suspicion is that it's electrical.

Restorex, the professional cleaning company hired by the city, finished their work Tuesday.

The Department of Public Works met with the Market's Tenants Association Tuesday to explain the next step for vendors.

Prior to the restocking of individual stands, all food contact surfaces, equipment, and utensils must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

Prior to the restocking of basement walk-in lockers, all shelving, equipment, and utensils must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

Walls and floors in each individual locker must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

On Monday, City officials and Osborn Engineering conducted a follow-up structural assessment of the West Side Market.
